Sergey Sysoev is a renowned Russian fashion designer and the creator of his eponymous brand, SERGEY SYSOEV, established in 1996. A member of the Association of Haute Couture and Prêt-à-Porter of Russia, he has been a regular and key participant in Moscow Fashion Week since 2000, presenting collections every season. Sysoev is also deeply involved in fashion education; holding a PhD in Art History and the rank of professor, he heads the Costume Design Department at the Kosygin Russian State University (RGUK), where he actively mentors and fosters a new generation of Russian designers. Collaborations with industrial enterprises and traditional folk craft workshops hold a special place in Sysoev’s creative work. His primary approach to these joint projects involves reinterpreting traditions, revisiting forgotten archives, and blending bespoke, handcrafted design with the capabilities of mass production.
