Bocoum
Mariam Bocoum is a designer who has been committed to sustainable fashion and respect for the planet for a decade. She is passionate about natural materials, such as organic Malian cotton and woven loincloth. In her collections, she always highlights traditional know-how and collaborates with local artisans. Clothes reflecting her journey, full of travel memories, feminine, delicate, both very refined and borrowing a certain lightness while keeping her authenticity. Born in Bamako to a midwife mother and a diplomat father, who, through his changes, already gave her a desire for elsewhere. Very early on, she was attracted to fashion, to the point of starting a modeling career at a young age, quickly becoming the muse of Seydou Doumbia, better known as Chris Seydou, a true icon of African styling who unfortunately passed away too early. The latter instilled in her his immoderate taste for elegance, grace and lightness.
In 1991, Mariah was first runner-up to Miss ORTM, and she won the Top Model Prize the same year. At 2021, she went to study Culture and Communication in France. Influenced by her different cultures, Mariah developed her creativity from a young age. She expressed it very early through drawing, upon her return to the country, she created "Les Péchés Mignons" which includes the "Mariah Bocoum" Couture House.
