Ajai is popularly known as the person who revived the fashion design industry of Sri Lanka in the last 23 years. He fathered Sri Lanka’s fashion development movement and as a result close to 80% of fashion designers we see today are the product of this fashion development platform. Today CFW is the backbone of Sri Lanka’s fashion design industry and its voice. His deep-rooted faith in Sri Lanka’s fashion design industry got him started on this journey 23 years ago (2003). Colombo Fashion Week is one of Asia’s four fashion weeks that are over 20 years old. He launched Ceylon Literary and Arts Festival in 2024 to give boost to Arts and Culture through this dedicated platform. He believes in a systematic approach to enhance Softpower that increases influence and builds profile for the industry and the country.
