Certification and Standards in the Fashion Industry
For a fashion brand, certification and quality standards have long been seen as a boring bureaucratic requirement — an unavoidable hurdle to get through in order to legally enter the market. But today, that is changing. The mandatory “Chestny Znak” (Honest label) labeling system now covers more and more clothing categories, while violations can lead to significant fines and products being blocked on major online marketplaces. At the same time, consumers are increasingly choosing brands with transparent supply chains and clear commitments to social and environmental responsibility. Certification is no longer just a box to check — it is becoming a way to build trust, gain a competitive advantage, and strengthen a brand’s identity.
